Wang Chongyu, Professor of Physics, Tsinghua University, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Born in 1932, in Beijing
Education: 1950-1952, Peiyang University, 1952-1953 Tsinghua University, 1953-1954 University of Science and Technology, Beijing
Professional. Research emphases: Basic research on electronic structure with material composition design of defect systems; constructing a theoretical investigation scheme of defect systems within quantum theory and classical theory; developing the mathematical expression and theoretical treatment mode of energetics of defects, and doing basic research on impurity effect; presenting the correlation mode (transferability form) between electronic structure and observable parameters for dislocation system, and using it to probe the multi-scale correlation between micro and macro for defect systems.
Research key point: Stressing quantum effect of defect-impurity complex and exploring the mechanism of action for electronic effect of structural and chemical elements, setting up the rule of composition selection for defect systems.
Publications: Starting in 1988, 50 scientific papers, primarily related to the electronic structure of defects in materials and two special writings (both by Science Press of Chinese Academy of Sciences).
Main honors: National Invention Award in 1983 and 1988; Progress in Science and Technology Award (5 times) at the ministry level between 1980-1994; Science Conference Award (2 times) of China, 1978.
