Wang Beaux

Wang Beaux, Professor of Thermal Engineering, Director of the Research Institute of Thermal Science and Engineering. Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Born Feb.5, 1922 in Jiangsu Province. Won his B.S. from Southwestern Associated University in 1943 and his M.S. from Purdue University, U.S.A. in 1949. He is an outstanding scientist and educator in the field of mechanical engineering, especially thermal science and technology, a pioneer of engineering thermophysics in China, and serves as the President of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics. He is well known in the world community of thermal science and is a leading member of many international academic societies. He is editor or member of the editorial boards of famous international journals, such as the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer£¬the International Journal of Thermophysics and the International Journal of Heat and Fluid Flow etc. He has been elected Active Member of the New York Academy of Science. He has participated in the development of national sciences and technology in China. The State Committee awarded many of his research achievements and has been rewarded with promotion and also by the State Education Commission. To present, he has authored or co-authored over 300 journal and national/international conference papers, 10 monographs or textbooks, and edited 6 international conference proceedings. He supervised a large number of Dr.-Eng. and MS graduates, some of whom have become outstanding individuals in many related fields in China.
