CUHK and Tsinghua University Cooperate in MBA Program


    The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) announced lately that it would cooperate with Tsinghua University for co-nurturing MBA professionals in financial and business specialty for China's inland.

    The opening ceremony for the MBA program was held recently in Beijing Shangri-La Hotel. Tsinghua University President Wang Dazhong, CUHK Vice-Chancellor Arthur K.C. Li and some department directors from the Ministry of Education and HKSAR Representative Office in Beijing attended the ceremony.

    Approved by the State Council, the co-op program, observing international standards, attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' all-round abilities. Particular emphasis will be put on students' practical experiences and development potentials.

    Qualified applicants will be interviewed jointly by the two universities before they are enrolled in the program. By adopting credit system, classes are given both in Chinese and English at Tsinghua University. After finishing their study, students will be granted MBA degrees issued by the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

    According to report, the MBA program was launched in November 2000. Over 60 students, mainly from financial institutions and enterprises of China's mainland, have been admitted in the first class.
