Chinese Environmental Law

The course of Chinese Environmental Law covers the following topics:

The status quo and the challenges ahead of the natural environment and resources in China in the context of transition from planned economy to market economy;
Basing on the model cases, the main objectives, general principles and basic instruments and tools for China's environmental protection will be reviewed. Among the basic instruments and tools, are the legal systems on the land use regulation, environmental impact assessment, ˇ°three simultaneousnessˇ±, permits, market-based incentives, environmental information disclosure, public participation, environmental liabilities, mechanism for the settlement of environmental disputes, etc.;
Various areas, such as the air pollution and clean energy, water pollution, solid waste contamination, toxic substances and nuclear waste, noise control, the coordination of domestic environmental law and international environmental law, are covered.
