Xu Zhang-run received his Ph.D. from Faculty of Law, the University of Melbourne, Australia before he joined Tsinghua Law School in February 2000. He also holds LL.B and LL.M from Southwest-China University of Political Science and Law(1983), and China University of Political Science and Law(1986) respectively. He is currently serving as Professor and Director of Centre for Studies in Rule of Law and Human Rights at Tsinghua Law School. His research focus on Jurisprudence, in particular, the Confucianist legal legacy and Constitutional Law. His recent books include Confucian Misgivings, Talk Law, Live law and Make Law and Jurist's Wisdom. He also are editor of books Savigny and the School of historical Jurisprudence, Faith in Law: Chinese Context and its Significance, Law: Western Model and Chinese Experience, Taking Human Rights Seriously in Beijing, Law: Reason and History--Australian Idea, Institution and Practice, and Criminology.
Xu Zhang-run has been visiting scholar at Law School, Bonn University, Germany, visiting senior research fellow at Asian Law Centre, the University of Melbourne, Australia and visiting Professor at Faculty of Law, University of Aix-Marseille, France. |
