The Department of Computer Science and Technology is part of the School of Information at Tsinghua University. The department offers Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Technology; Doctor's and Master's degrees in Computer Organization and Architecture, Computer Application, and Computer Software and Master's degrees in Theoretical Computer Science.
In 1956 the computer major was initiated at Tsinghua University. In 1979 the Department of Computer Engineering and Technology was established. Later, it was renamed the Department of Computer Science and Technology.
The Department has 33 full professors, 10 doctoral supervisors and 79 associate professors. The Department has nine well-equipped laboratories. The National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and System is also here.
